Health Insurance Fitness Contributions Switzerland 2025

Most Swiss health insurers support your healthy lifestyle with generous contributions to gym memberships, fitness courses, and health promotion. However, coverage varies significantly between basic and supplementary insurance.

Basic Insurance vs. Supplementary Insurance

Basic insurance (KVG) covers medically necessary treatments but usually does NOT pay for gym memberships or preventive sports.

Supplementary insurance (VVG) is where the money lies. Products like 'Completa', 'Sana', or 'myFlex' often pay between 50% and 90% of your subscription costs - up to CHF 1,400 per year.

The Qualitop Standard

To receive money, your gym must usually be Qualitop certified. All gyms listed on KillBill meet this standard.
